Florian is a Founding Partner at Project A based in Berlin. A serial entrepreneur and operator turned investor, he is widely regarded as one of Germany’s leading experts in digital growth, marketing, and data strategies. Over the past decade, his work has also made him a trusted advisor to the German Mittelstand, helping traditional companies navigate the challenges of digital transformation and build bridges to the startup ecosystem.
Before founding Project A, Florian was a Managing Director at Rocket Internet, where he helped to build and scale Zalando and Global Fashion Group. He previously co-founded JustBooks/AbeBooks (acquired by Amazon), Antibodies Online (acquired by BroadOak), and held senior roles at Jamba! and iLove.
As an angel investor, he has backed over 80 startups – including Trivago, Zalando, Home24, and Audibene/Hear.com – and is an LP in more than 50 VC funds with a strong focus on emerging managers. He also sits on the boards of Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, Fiege Logistics and Koerber, and is an advisor to Oetker and other corporations.
Florian holds a doctorate in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from RWTH Aachen, studied at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and was a visiting scholar at the Wharton School.
